Vanquishing Dry Top question
I was using Sab\'s Necro Build which was getting me through Dry Top, but then right before I was about to vanquish I encountered a spawn with 3 monks. 3. Is this a known group or a bad spawn? Did anyone else have trouble with this? I\'m wondering if I should run with a modified group next time to make sure if this happens again, I\'ll be able to actually complete it. I\'m just using H/H.
I was able to almost take down one monk, but between the running and other healers, it was madness. I couldn\'t spread out the damage enough to keep them all under control. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've been there two times, I'm not sure, but i thought the second time there were only 2 Monks in that big group. Still, it'd be best to take some good interrupting and Enchantment removal when you go there.

Hm, thank you both. I think Ill use the 2xMM + 1Mo Setup you used Mystery. Just curious, what setup did you have Dunkoro running? I presumed a standard LoD build?
I\'m running a warrior with a pressure build, Dragon Slash along with bleeding + deep wound + conjure. So far it\'s been great overall with getting enemies down to, or close to half, or finishing them off quickly. I was also considering a backbreaker build for a good KD while focusing on a monk, just to make sure they aren\'t healing themselves :P.

It is just a bad spawn, although it is not uncommon. I had the same issue, although I encountered them fairly early on in the zone and so I hadn't wasted too much time there... I just rezoned and came back, and only two spawned that time = win. The suggestions here and in the earlier thread are good, but rezoning is always an option too.

The Dunkoro build was: OwAT043A5IjbUj5siuslyEA, since I dont change it almost anytime, I guess I used it at that time too.
If you want to go with KD, make sure you got a rune that lenghtens KD duration on you. You may pack Shock from Ele line too as a next KD skill...

deep wound and pressure was more than enough for me to take groups with 3 monks out, also had a group or two spawn with 3 monks in silverwood.
i was the monk, had alesia, orion, olias jagged bones, master of whispers ss (didn't have barbs or MoP), koss with deep wound (dismemeber)
had no problem with maguuma protectors with that

I ran into the same spawn when I went through that zone. I was using the 3 necro hero build on the hero forums. I am a W/E using conjure, Triple, Whirling, and what not. I have been bringing along the Ebon Assassin Support though and all I had to do was send him after one monk and then I could overpower one of the other two monks that were left.

Why doesn't anyone bring mesmers into HM? Mesmers and necros are all you'll need for just about anything.

Because some people like variety? Like not bringing full teams of only Mesmers and Necromancers...

Both times I've been to Dry Top to vanquish (yes, on different characters) I encounted this spawn. Both times we had "issues" with it. Someone in our group was adament that he was going to post to support about this overpowered mob. TBH I didn't see the big hooharh, once we got them properly lured and trapped on the north corner the mob went down easily.

to be honest that mob is about as over rated as the one with 4 dolyaks in the bonus area in frost gate HM. everyone complains about them, if you know whats coming plan just a bit for it.
deep wound + pressure > AI monks, hell you don't even need daze
pwning 4 level 28 mark of protection monks ftw
